Brillion, WI – February 10, 2025 – The North Country Sports Council has announced that the 2025 World Snowshoe Championships, US Snowshoe Championships, and Open Championships will now take place in December 2025 at Ariens Nordic Center, instead of the previously scheduled March dates. This strategic shift will provide more opportunities for athletes, spectators, and the broader snowshoe community to fully engage in the event, creating an even more exciting and memorable experience.

The new December timing allows the event to be integrated with several other exciting activities, including expanded amenities for athletes and a festive atmosphere. In addition to the championships, the Open event will be combined with the annual Santa Ski with Ariens Nordic, creating a fun and unique experience for families and fans. This integration ensures that participants and spectators can enjoy a full weekend of activities that celebrate winter sports and community spirit.

“We are announcing a shift to December 2025,” said Matthew Dougherty, Executive Director of North Country Sports Council. “This timing offers us an incredible opportunity to create an event that not only focuses on world-class competition but also integrates a range of activities for athletes and spectators to enjoy. We’re looking forward to offering athletes more amenities and making the event more accessible to fans and families. Additionally, combining the Open event with the Santa Ski will add a fun, festive element that captures the spirit of the season.”
